I wonder if the White House brain trust were scratching their heads, trying to come up with a way to tie the West Wing cocaine to Trump.

From an article by Asia Grace at nypost.com, edited by yours truly: “Brain flossing — or brain massaging — is quickly becoming the hottest self-healing trend online, with social media sound lovers seemingly achieving inner peace within seconds…” The noise is said to have a soothing effect. Headphones are suggested. Adherents claim great stress relief.

I suppose there will be a lot more of the following in the future, headline from foxbusiness.com: “Authors sue OpenAI for copyright infringement, claim ChatGPT unlawfully ‘ingested’ their books.” I don’t think I’d mind if all 14 of mine were “ingested.” I’d have to see proof they were being used without compensation for yours truly before I’d take action.

From foxnews.com: “Texas woman, 90, retires from Dillard’s after 74 years, touches lives at work: ‘Not just a salesperson’.” She never called in sick! Kudos, Madam. Meet Melba Mebane, photo from Google Images:

And in NYC, Monty Pythonesque photo from GI:

Man, there were a lot of fireworks set off in my area last night. It reminded me of when I was a kid and just about everyone had some.

Hottest session yet this year for the floating book shop. I put out only 20% of the wares and kept to the shade, bottle of frozen water nearby. My thanks to Dave, who donated two works of non-fiction, and to Alice, who did a swap of paperbacks; and to the lovely elderly lady library volunteers, who donated a handful of books; and to the young woman who overcompensated me for Who Knew? — 10,001 Easy Solutions to Everyday Problems by Bruce Lubin and Jeanne Bossolina-Lubin; and to Wolf, who bought Caddyshack 2 (1988) and another comedy DVD; and to the woman who purchased a thick tome on Chinese cooking.
