Tuesday’s Tune
Read it and weep. Caption from nypost.com: “Of 158 NY-based companies managing $993 billion in assets, 56 have decamped to Florida…”
The photo above is from Google Images. According to a nypost.com article by Snejana Farberov, in my own words, the owner believes the house was saved not by dumb luck but because its roof is metal, no plants were around the perimeter and its distance from other homes was a bit more than usual… In the same vein, excerpt from an NYP article by Stephen Moore: “It wasn’t our fossil-fuel use that caused the fires. It was climate-change alarmists who demanded all the money go to green energy rather than saving at-risk homes and lives.” He is citing the little money that went into making power lines safer, for which companies had pleaded, and which have proven to be the cause of the fire.
I have to defend a song I don’t like. The PC police have gone after Queen’s Fat Bottom Girls. It’s too silly to be offensive. I’m not a fan because it’s generic rock and, as a male chauvinist from way back, I am not partial to fat bottoms.
The Quid Pro Joe follies have traveled to Maui for a photo op. Headline from foxnews.com: “Biden compares deadly Hawaii devastation to small kitchen fire — the reaction was furious.” He waited 13 days. Remember the flack W caught when he waited three days to visit New Orleans after Katrina? Apparently the mainstream media has forgotten that.
Attention states ruled by liberals: study what Minnesota is doing right. Excerpt from an article by Steve Karnoski at fox9.com: “…rebates, adding up to about $1 billion, are part of legislation signed by Democratic Gov. Tim Walz in May to return a portion of a projected $17.6 billion budget surplus to taxpayers.” Those who earned more than $150,000 will not get one.
A glorious day to do business curbside. My thanks to the sweet elderly lady library volunteers, who gave me a clock radio, which I will keep; and to the gentleman who bought two hardcovers in Russian; and to the woman who also purchased two and Ingrid Bergman: My Story; and to Herbie, who selected The Law of Love: Lawless / The Law Is a Lady by Nora Roberts; and to Shelley, who chose Under the Radar by Fern Michaels; and to the woman who dropped off a marketable book at Waj’s food truck. I am blessed.
