Whale of a Day
Wow moments off New Hampshire. The two fishermen, uninjured, were rescued by another boat. Photos from Google Images:
It’s no surprise that Hillary is all in on Kamala Harris. Both rode the coattails of males and both are radicals.
Headline and photo from nypost.com: “Thar she blows: Jaw-dropping video shows Yellowstone geyser explode, sending tourists fleeing in terror.”
From NYP: “CSI: Alien 3-fingered ‘alien mummies’ found in Peru have fingerprints that do not appear to be human: report.” Mulder and Scully are on the way.
I finalized By the Numbers, a short story collection, as an ebook. I waited at least a month for another story idea to emerge that might take the manuscript to a length befitting a print copy, but none came. Maybe I’ve finally reached my creative limit. Anyway, now if I drop dead, a distinct possibility at 74 even though I appear to be in good health, the work will be out there for anyone interested, rather than languishing in a computer file. Most likely, it will be as ignored as my 14 other books. LOL-grudgingly.
RIP musician John Mayall, 90, known as the godfather of British blues. Born in England, he sang, played guitar, harmonica and keyboard. He graduated from the Manchester College of Art, which served him well, as he designed several of his album covers. He moved to London in 1963 and took up music full time. His skills were appreciated more by fellow artists than the general public. Wiki lists 39 albums in his name. None were big sellers. Eric Clapton was a frequent collaborator, as were Mick Taylor and John McVie. Mayall was constantly on tour and recording many of the gigs. In 2001 his Along for the Ride LP, billed as John Mayall and Friends, included 20 names on the cover including Gary Moore, Johnny Lang, Steve Cropper, Steve Miller, Otis Rush, Billy Gibbons, Chris Rea and Jeff Healey. Mayall began living in the USA full time in the ‘70’s. Earlier this year he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the category of musical influence. Married twice, he was a father of six. Well done, Sir. Facts from Wiki, photo from GI:
Another day of draining humidity at the Anti-Inflation Book Shop. Brother! I shouldn’t complain, as the forecast was for rain and none came. My thanks to lovely Lana, who again grossly overcompensated me, this time for Old Yeller by Fred Gipson; and to Herbie, who bought a Barbara Stanwyck bio and Girl Stolen, a thriller by April Henry; and to local porter Robert, who donated four marketable items.
