What a World

Here’s an interesting excerpt from Betsy McCaughey’s op-ed piece at nypost.com: “… Pennsylvania hospitals are tilting the scale in favor of patients from “disadvantaged areas.” If you’re middle class, you’re toast. To “redress social injustices,” Pennsylvania is applying a “weighted lottery” statewide, to hike the odds that the scarce drug remdesivir for COVID-19 will be given to patients from poor neighborhoods.” Fortunately, hydroxychloroquine is available and is infinitely less expensive.

Here’s a foxnews.com headline that will surprise no one: “4 LA men admit to Skid Row voter-fraud scheme.”

Tragically, Herman Cain, 74, has died from Corona two weeks after he attended the Trump rally in Tulsa, where he did not wear a mask. Trump is being blamed for the death. None of those on the attack know if anyone else at the rally has died or even contracted the virus. Then again, that’s not the point, is it? RIP, Mr. Cain. Thank you for not falling in lockstep with the failed policies of liberals.

Science was my worse subject. Here’s a FN story that baffles me, as it sounds more like something from Monty Python’s Flying Circus: “The huge stones at Stonehenge in Southern England came from just 15.5 miles away, according to new research. Most of the sarsens, or sandstone boulders, came from West Woods in the English county of Wiltshire, researchers explain, citing the chemical composition of the stones. The sarsens are up to 30 feet tall and can weigh as much as 25 tons.” It took all this time to figure that out?

I scroll past pictures of animals posted on on the web. Here’s one even I couldn’t resist of a Mexican couple who lost everything in a flood but managed to save their puppies:

My thanks to the young mom who donated a big box of mostly non-fiction, kids books and DVDs, and to the young man who delivered a bag’s worth; and to the two middle age women who bought six books in Russian between them; and to the one who purchased Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, the story of an escapee from an Australian prison perhaps based on the author’s own experiences. Published in 2003, Russell Crowe and Johnny Depp each tried and failed to get it to the big screen. A ten episode series is in the works starring Charlie Hunnam, who did 92 episodes of Sons of Anarchy and has also played King Arthur (2017) and Nicholas Nickleby (2002).
