Wow headline from NYP: “Bed Bath & Beyond turning off AC in stores to save money: report.” It will be surprising if the stores stick to it. Even more surprising would be if others follow suit.

I’m doomed. From NYP: “Falling asleep with the TV on could bring early death: study.” I’ve been doing it for decades. Staring at the screen helps me sleep.

There are snowflakes and then there are snowflakes. There is baloney and then there is baloney. From NYP: “Amazon workers demand time off to ‘grieve’ SCOTUS abortion ruling: report.” The same applies to this headline about Cornell University from foxnews.com: “Ivy League school removes Lincoln bust, Gettysburg Address after ‘complaint’.”

Snippet from an FN article by Shiv Sudhakar: “People who used cannabis visited emergency rooms or were hospitalized 22% more often than those who did not use cannabis.” The research was done in Ontario, 1/1'09–12/31/’15.

Sub-headline from FN: “Police solved 54% of murder in 2020, the lowest case clearance rate on record.” Seems the defund movement is working excellently for criminals.

Unsurprising newsmax.com headline that reflects America’s divide: “Rasmussen Poll: 50 Percent Support SCOTUS Abortion Ruling.”

Even though I believe Trump is the best man for the job by a mile, I hope he doesn’t run. Maybe it will eliminate the madness that has affected so many Americans, although it wouldn’t be surprising if the vitriol would then be focused on whoever is the next GOP standard bearer. It’s hard to imagine it being as intense as it is now.

Well, if people start buying books again, I’m well-stocked. My thanks to the sweet elderly library ladies who donated a bunch of kids’ stuff, and to the gentleman who delivered about 75 books in Russian, two of which sold, one a Danielle Steel translation, the only sales of the session on this gorgeous warm day. The inventory has grown so large I’m now using the front passenger seat for storage.
