RIP actress Barbara Bosson, a TV mainstay from 1968-’97. Born in Pennsylvania coal country, she gradually worked her way up, landing a bit part in Bullitt (1968) at 26. There are 43 titles under her name at IMDb, a figure that does not reveal the extent of her success. She was in 103 episodes alone of Hill Street Blues, 42 of Hooperman, 47 of the two incarnations of Murder One, eleven of Cop Rock, five of The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, five of Richie Brockelman, Private Eye. She did multiple episodes and one-shots of other shows as well. She was nominated for six Emmys for supporting actress. She also has six credits as a writer, most notably for the Smothers Brothers. My thanks to Mother Nature for providing a rain-free window that allowed the floating bookshop a full session. There was even an hour of sunshine that provided enough warmth so that I didn’t have to sit in the car to take the chill off.
