Wings & More

From pinterest.com, posted by Fuoco Cheng. Not sure if she’s the artist:

President Trump continues to wow supporters, actually governing like a conservative Republican. The Department of Education is a travesty and deserves to be scrapped. I don’t know if this will lead to a turnaround in test scores, standards and attendance, but it won’t hurt. And Musk continues to uncover fraud and abuse, despite personal threats. Kudos all around. Meanwhile, rich as Croesus left-wingers AOC and Bernie Sanders have embarked on the Fighting Oligarchy Tour.

Good news. Headline from nypost.com: “Controversial NYC law allowing noncitizens to vote is dead as state’s top court shuts it down.” Not that it would make a difference in a liberal baston.

Among today’s celebrations, it’s Big Bang Day. One would hope.

From 30 Bits of Trivia That Have Been Handed Down From Generation to Generation in a Sacred Listicle for Millennia by Jay Wells, msm.com:

RIP Hollywood mainstay Wings Hauser, 78. Born in Tinseltown, son of writer/producer/actor Dwight Hauser, he was a star athlete in high school, earning his “Wings” nickname during his gridiron years playing wingback. Before turning to acting, he cut two albums. His screen career spanned 1967–2019. There are 115 titles under his name at IMDb. He was comfortable on the big and small screen, especially in action flicks or in villainous roles. Among his more notable big screen appearances: Who’ll Stop the Rain (1978), A Soldier’s Story (1984) and The Insider (1999). On TV he did eight episodes of The Last Precinct, 13 of Lightning Force, six of Beverly Hills, 90210, 15 of The Young and the Restless, and many guests shots on popular primetime fare. He has five credits as a director and four as a writer, including a collaboration on Uncommon Valor (1983). Married four times, he was a father of two. His final union, to actress/filmmaker/musician Cali Lili, spanned 2002 until his passing. Photo from Google Images:

Given the wind, I wasn’t expecting much action today at the Anti-Inflation Book Shop. My thanks to the woman who delivered a boffo bag of DVDs, and to The Quiet Man, who bought six of them; and to my Constant Benefactress, who insisted on paying for This Here Flesh: Spirituality, Liberation, and the Stories That Make Us by Cole Arthur Riley, despite having donated four books; and to the woman who settled her tab; and to Anna and Ira, who brought me a bag of pretzels and a bottle of Poland Spring respectively. I am blessed.
