I hadn’t spotted interesting news on the marijuana front in a while. Headline from nypost.com: “NY’s smokin’ hot, legal weed sales surpass $500M thanks to rogue-shop crackdown.” Will the revenue be spent wisely? Why not kill the proposed congestion pricing? Then again, never underestimate government greed.

This may be the most amusing headline of the day, from foxnews.com: “Michelle Obama wears nearly $3K pantsuit while criticizing the wealthy at DNC.” I wonder how much of her wealth she shares.

From FN: “VP Harris still hasn’t released website on policy — so Trump camp did it for her.” Love it!

Laugh or cry? Headline from foxbusiness.com: “US economy created 818,000 fewer jobs than previously reported.”

RIP NBA stalwart Al Attles, 87. Born in Newark, he earned a Master’s at North Carolina A&T, where his #22 was retired by the school. He was signed by the Philadelphia Warriors, who would soon move to San Francisco. He was a member of two teams that lost the NBA finals, then reached the promised land as head coach in 1975, a squad led by Rick Barry. In eleven seasons as a point guard who excelled defensively, he averaged 8.9 PPG, 3.5 RPG and 3.5 APG. He was at the helm from ‘70-’83, compiling a record of 557–518, the winningest coach in team history. He served as GM during the ‘83-’84 season and as VP and consultant for many years. His #16 was retired by the franchise. He is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Bay Area Hall of Fame. Awesome, Sir. Photo from Google Images:

I have to get the following out of my head. Top five women who were too much for any one man, photos from GI:
1. Hedy Lamarr: ranked first because she was a genius inventor as well as drop-dead gorgeous. Married six times.

2. Ava Gardner: Married three of the most talented artists in history: Mickey Rooney, Artie Shaw and Frank Sinatra. She had a look that imparted she did not suffer fools.

3. Zsa Zsa Gabor. Always great fun on talk shows, she obviously wasn’t fun to be married to, having wed nine times.

4. Marilyn Monroe. She just seemed lost, especially after 30.

5. Any porn star. Duh!

Gorgeous day to do business curbside. My thanks to the young woman who delivered about 20 books, the non-fiction of which is stellar; and to Herbie, who bought Breathless by Helen Hardt and Fresh Kills by Bill Loehfelm; and to the woman who purchased Silent Night by Danielle Steel; and to all those who took home 3D art; and to Steve, poet laureate of Sheepshead Bay, who chose an audio book, Michael Connelly’s Closers, read by Len Cariou.
