Another chapter in Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World — eye-opening snippet from a nypost.com article by Dana Kennedy, edited by yours truly: “Unlike other assisted-suicide organizations in Switzerland, Pegasos, established in 2019, accepts applications from people who are not terminally ill.” The choices are a lethal drink or intravenous drip. I had no idea. Creepy.
Also from NYP: “Eric Adams rightly asks NYC blacks to help save their own streets.” Will personal responsibility no longer be anathema to the left?
I doubt there will be a more amusing headline today than this one from NYP: “NBC takes heat for airbrush of Lia Thomas.” Oh yeah, that’ll fool ‘em.
For the first time in what seems ages, I did not nod off last night while watching TV. I made it through an episode of Columbo, a third of another, and two of Combat!. And still I was up before five AM. May it continue.
Headline from foxnews.com: “Gingrich on liberals’ misjudgment of Putin: They thought ‘The Lion King’ was a ‘documentary’.” Kudos.
Runaway ego, headline from FN: “Sean Penn threatens to destroy Oscars if Zelenksyy not invited to Academy Awards.” The two-time winner has vowed to melt them in public. I haven’t watched the broadcast in decades. However, despite plunging American interest in the PC woke-fest, it goes out to the entire world, which would allow the Ukraine president a broad forum to get his message out, although at this point I’m not sure anyone is in the dark about what is happening there. For a change, it wouldn’t be the politics of the ridiculous at the Oscars.
Just enough sunshine to make it a pleasant stay today on Bay Parkway. My thanks to Mr. Conspiracy, aka Steve, who donated two works of non-fiction, and to the gentleman who bought two books in Russian; and to the young man who purchased Fever and Viral, both by Robin Cook, and Night Rituals by Michael Jahn and Otley by Martin Waddell; and to the little guy who jumped on the tape measure I found on the street a couple of days ago; and to Bill Brown, author of Words and Guitar: A History of Lou Reed’s Music and other fine books, who took home Africans and Their History by Joseph E. Harris.
