Sunday Afternoon by LS Lowry is expected to fetch between £4m-6m at a Christie’s auction, more than five million is U.S. green. Photo by Neil Hall/EPA, posted at the guardian.com:

Headline from nypost.com: “Putin wins landslide re-election to extend 25-year rule in vote criticized as a sham by protesters.” Estimated margin of victory 88%. Would Dems whine about Russian election deniers?

Will this surprise anyone but hardcore leftists? From NYP: “‘Woke’ people more likely to be unhappy, anxious and depressed, new study suggests.” The perpetually aggrieved unhappy? Can’t be.

From NYP: “Longshot candidate credits AI for helping him beat Biden in American Samoa caucus: ‘Very adept at technology’.” It will be interesting to see if AI affects the November election. It would be no surprise if the Dems use it to their advantage while Republicans continue to sleep at the wheel. It may do what early and mail-in voting did in ‘20.

Find a more amusing headline than this one from newsmax.com in today’s news: “Hunter Biden Associate to Testify from Prison.”

This may be a first. From NM: “Conservatives Sue US Over Windmills’ Harm to Whales.” No doubt mocking the left’s constant environmental suits.

The floating book shop was lucky on this cold, blustery day. My thanks to Wolf, who bought Roget’s Thesaurus, American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House by Jon Meacham, Berlin 1945: The Last Battle of WW2 by Luca Stefano Cristini and Enrico Ricciardi, Ghost Soldiers: The Epic Account of World War II’s Greatest Rescue Mission by Hampton Sides, and Power and Destiny: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush; and to the woman who took home another cook book, Nella Cucina: More Italian Cooking from the Host of Ciao Italia by Mary Ann Esposito and Lauren Jarrett; and to Lou, who purchased a bunch of DVDs; and to one of his many exes, Alice, who donated a hardcover and a nice Spring jacket.

She is music in the kitchen. “Eh, comare, ci voi suonare…”

Tipiti, tipiti, ta.” (Julius La Rosa/Archie Bleyer)
